Community Budget Town Halls

Community Budget Town Halls

Dear HUSD Community,

As you may be aware, the Hayward Unified School District is facing a budget shortfall, similar to many other districts in our area and across the state. As we begin the work of developing budget solutions, we want to ensure that our families, students, staff and broader community are informed and have opportunities to share their input. Although our budget work actually takes place throughout the year, this year we are paying particular attention to a challenging fiscal environment.

Beginning next week, we will be hosting a series of community town hall meetings to discuss where we currently stand with the budget and next steps as we move through the process. District leadership will share a presentation about the current budget situation and take questions and feedback. The meetings will take place across the district on both weeknights and weekends. You are encouraged to attend any meeting that is most convenient to you. I urge you to attend if you can.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to attend these important meetings. I recognize that we all have many responsibilities and demands on our work and personal time, and I appreciate your accommodation.

In community,

Superintendent Jason Reimann
