Time for an Upgrade: Summer 2019 Quickstart HUSD Measure H Initiatives

Over the summer break, while the majority of our students, teachers, and staff are taking some well deserved time off to relax, the HUSD Measure H team will be hard at work! At the May 8th, 2019 board workshop, the HUSD Board of Education approved the budget for 11 quickstart projects to take place over the summer.

Six of these projects include four roof replacements and two exterior painting efforts at four school locations. While these exterior projects will go far to improve the infrastructure of these facilities by providing new solid roofs and clean exterior paint finishes, they will also serve to provide a new, clean look for these schools.

Winton Middle School and Treeview Elementary are both receiving new exterior paint finishes and brand new roofs over the summer. These new roofs are badly needed and we’re excited to be bringing a beautified campus experience with a secure leak-proof classroom environment for students. In addition, Eden Gardens Elementary and Lorin Eden Elementary will both be receiving new roofs this summer. Both of these schools are also overdue for these improvements, and this work will provide a better, cleaner, and healthier environment for the students of these schools.

If you happen to drive by Winton Middle School, Treeview Elementary, Eden Gardens Elementary, or Lorin Eden Elementary, be sure to pause and appreciate the work being done by our contractors to transform these schools into safer, more secure, and more attractive places of inspiration and learning for our students and teachers.
