Mandated Reporter Training

Effective July 1, 2026 and pursuant to the California Senate Bill (SB) 848, all volunteers are required to complete Mandated Reporter Training annually.

Mandated reporter training is an instructional program that teaches professionals and volunteers who work with children how to legally recognize and report signs of abuse or neglect. This training clarifies exactly what must be reported, who to contact, and the legal timelines. Senate Bill 848 requires all volunteers be mandated reporters.

All volunteers must complete the required training before accepting or participating in any volunteer assignments during the 2026-2027 school year.

Online Mandated Reporter Training

The training is available in English and Spanish. Select “Staff/Volunteer Training” and scroll to the bottom to register as a New User. Please select “Volunteer” as your Primary Occupation in the registration section. The training takes approximately 35 minutes to complete. A 10 question test will be administered at the end of the training. Note: a device with sound is required.
