📢 Hayward Unified Family Updates: March 2026
🌼 Happy March, HUSD Families! Our latest Family Newsletter is officially here! 📰✨
Welcome to March! Our latest Family Newsletter is officially here, and it is packed with exciting community events, important student resources, and wonderful celebrations of our local talent.
Here is a quick look at what we are featuring this month:
- 7th Annual African American Family Conference: Join us on Saturday, March 14th, at Bret Harte! It will be an inspiring day featuring keynote speaker Dr. Jamal Cooks, engaging workshops, a community resource fair, and talented student entertainers.
- Arts Education Month in California: March is the perfect time to celebrate how the arts boost student success in Hayward Unified. Find out how you can support our students by attending HUSD Performing Arts Center showcases, supporting Mt. Eden's Music Boosters, or catching a spring musical.
- Free Bus Rides for Middle & High Schoolers: Great news! Through our partnership with the Alameda County Transportation Commission, all HUSD middle and high school students are eligible for a free Student Transit Pass to get to school, extracurriculars, and around town safely.
- Parent of the Month: We are so proud to honor Jenn Thomas! A dedicated volunteer at MLK and Tennyson High for four years, Jenn recently treated the entire school to nachos, turning "Fresh Friday" into "Fantastic Friday." Thank you, Jenn!
Thank you for being such an active and supportive part of our community!
