Requirements to become a substitute teacher:

• Hold a bachelor's degree or have completed 90 units and currently enrolled 
• Interview with the district
• Clear a background check (fingerprinting)
• Provide proof of a current TB test

• AB 1522 - Substitute Sick Leave Form
  • Click this link to submit your substitute sick leave form. To qualify you need the following:
    • Have worked with HUSD for 90 Days
    • Have worked 30 school days in the current calendar year
    • Are requesting paid sick leave for a day that there was a reasonable expectation that an assignment would be available
