School Site Council (SSC)

Thank you for serving on the school site council. Your support and dedication is imperative to improving education for all of our children. This page is dedicated to the school site councils at all of our HUSD schools and will provide council members with the resources needed to run a successful school site council. The resources provided on this page under "Samples and Templates" are editable and customizable so that they can be tailored to the fit the needs of your school site. These documents also meet all legal requirements so your SSC and the district are in full compliance with the latest regulations.

What is School Site Council?
School Site Council (SSC) is a legally required decision-making body for any school receiving federal funds. It includes teachers, parents, administrators, and interested community members who work together to develop and monitor the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).
Responsibilities of the SSC

Become knowledgeable in state and local issues related to testing and curriculum and instruction |
Review bylaws |
Communicate regularly with stakeholders |
Develop an annual meeting Calendar |
May appoint committees to assist with developing, monitoring and evaluating the SPSA |
Develop the School Safety Plan |
Primary responsibility of the SSC is to monitor the effectiveness of the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and suggest changes to the plan as necessary. |
