Student Transit Pass Program

This is a program from Alameda County to provide free or reduced transportation to high school and middle school-aged students. The Clipper Card can be used on A/C Transit buses, Union City Transit, and for 50% discounts on BART and other Bay Area transit systems. The card can be transferred to a cell phone to make using the card easier, and the Clipper Card can be used for more than just home-to-school transportation.
To Apply:
Students and parents can visit the Alameda County Transportation Commission website. On that website, click "Apply", Select "Hayward Unified School District", "Pick your school", and complete the application.
Timeframe:
After the application is sent, it can take between 4 and 6 weeks to receive the card. After receiving a Clipper Card, students will never have to reapply. The assigned card is valid until the student is 19 years old.
School Site Contract:
Your card will be delivered directly to the student's school site. Click here for your site's administrator.
Lost Cards:
If a card is lost, don’t reapply. Go back to the Alameda County Transportation Commission and select “Replace your pass”.
