Multimedia Pathways
Community Multimedia Academy (CMMA) at Tennyson High
The Community Multimedia Academy is a small learning community (SLC) at Tennyson High School that integrates computer technology, multimedia, social justice, and community service. CMMA students work closely with a team of teachers for three years, meeting college (a-g) entrance requirements and learning valuable multimedia skills.
Courses
Multimedia I P: (10th grade)
This is a beginning level course in multimedia production and computer technology. The course will provide students with a basic introduction to multimedia, using industry standard software and hardware. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of computer applications, presentations, coding, digital image editing, and basic video production/ editing. Through projects, class exercises and tutorials, students will learn about work ethics, leadership, initiative, teamwork, self-management, and responsibility. Career path skills, such as working as a production team member, project planning and management, professional criticism, and presentation skills are introduced and practiced. The curriculum will integrate project-based learning with core academic classes in English, Social Studies, and related topics. Academic content will focus on themes related to social justice, World and American literature and historical events.
Multimedia II P: (11th grade)
This is an advanced level course in multimedia production and computer technology. It teaches advanced techniques involved in project planning, production, project completion and presentation. The course will build upon the skills learned in Multimedia I and challenge students with further skills and advanced topics. The technical aspects of the course will involve video production, editing, and streaming to the world wide web. Students will continue advanced digital image production, motion graphics, and game design. At the end of the course, students will create a Digital Portfolio of completed projects for personal or professional use.
Visual Communication Through Digital Media: (12th grade), Visual Communication Through Digital Media is the senior year capstone course in Digital Media. The course fulfills the “F” requirement for Visual and Performing Arts. Students learn advanced video production, motion graphics, and digital imaging. At the end of the year, students prepare and present a Digital Portfolio before parents, peers, teachers, and community members.

Mt. Eden Technology Art Pathway
Mt. Eden High School hosts the Mt. Eden Technology and Art (MTAP) career. It incorporates digital media and art skills to better prepare students for careers in multimedia that utilize both new technologies and artistic talent. Get hands-on training in technology and art, explore career opportunities with work-based learning events, and take exciting courses to better develop your media skills.

Multimedia II P

At the end of the course, students will create a digital portfolio of completed projects for personal or professional use.
