Welcome to the Hayward Unified School District. Our students come ready to learn, and they leave ready for anything. At HUSD, we are Made in Hayward. That means you get:
We prepare students for college, career, and beyond. A rigorous and engaging environment challenges kids to discover their true potential. We’re paving the way to success with resources like our Career Pathways, college readiness programs, and a robust STEAM curriculum created jointly with Cal State East Bay.
Strong communities begin with strong schools. Our community schools approach opens the doors to families. Our schools are learning hubs for families and communities working together so kids come to school ready to learn, and learn a lot.
Welcome to world-class programming. We’ve invested in programs in the arts and sciences to stimulate deeper learning and ignite individual passions because these are not electives—they are essential.
We make access and opportunity for all students a district priority. The world is a diverse place—so are we. When you have a chance to learn next to others who have different perspectives, you learn something new about yourself and are better equipped to take on the world.
Every student realizes their innate potential, becoming a lifelong learner and having a positive impact on their community.
We draw from our community’s rich diversity in order to create an engaging and equitable educational experience, delivered in a safe and supportive environment.
Enrollment for the 2023-24 school year opens on February 6, 2023. For more information, visit our enrollment web page.
Dual Language Immersion programs bring together native English speakers and native speakers of another language in a unique opportunity for both groups to learn a second language. Students are taught in English for 50% of the day and in Spanish or Mandarin for the other 50% of the day.
HUSD has a strong commitment to visual and performing arts. We offer a rigorous, standards-based arts education program for every child in the district.
