In 2019, HUSD engaged in a strategic planning process in order to provide focus and direction to our efforts to improve HUSD.  The plan delineated key areas considered important to address in order to be a successful district. This was a three-year plan that sunsetted in 2022.  Since then, the district has experienced leadership and other changes that call for a refreshed strategic plan.

The superintendent's office is embarking on a new strategic plan process intended to clarify district priorities for the next three years and the strategies and work needed to support our goals

A key part of the process will be outreach to the HUSD community, using engagement sessions to gather input in a uniform manner. This will include outreach to families, students, labor partners, district committees, and affinity groups. The district will also rely on input gathered from previous engagement sessions and surveys.

The listening sessions will focus on strategies to support these three pillars:
