June 1, 2018 2017-18 Negotiations Update #2
On May 31, 2018 the Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) negotiations team met with the Hayward Education Association (HEA) negotiations team for their second bargaining session.
Although the district must remain fiscally responsible, HUSD did increase its initial offer of a 0.5% one-time salary bonus to a 0.75% one-time bonus.The HEA negotiations team countered with a 3.5% salary increase. The day’s session ended with HUSD again increasing its offer to a 1.0% one-time bonus.
The two parties will continue negotiating on June 6, 2018 to reach a fair and fiscally responsible compensation agreement.
