Board Goals

On August 24, 2011 the board  their Board Adopted District Goals for the 2011 school year. These goals are a set of six priorities that will serve as a driving force for all of HUSD’s work. Below are these goals.

 

Academics 

GOAL #1: Prepare all students - beginning with Kindergarten - to be college-ready by meeting CSU/UC A-G requirements.

GOAL #2: Raising API (825) scores for all schools and all subgroups by 2014 and meet annual growth targets.

Fiscal Stability 

GOAL #3: Student achievement will drive budgetary decisions

GOAL #4: Consistently maintain a fiscally solvent and positively certified district.

Leadership

GOAL #5:  Guided by a commitment to equity, create an environment which promotes an actively engaged and supportive community.

GOAL #6:  Engage all stakeholders to address the needs of the district for long term stability.

GOAL #7:  Provide and maintain modern and up-to-date facilities and systems, including professional development  in order to ensure equity and meet district priorities.

Student Health and Safety  

GOAL #8: District will provide a safe and healthy learning environment.

GOAL #9: District will provide healthy and nutritious meals.

Expectations and Accountability 

GOAL #10: District is committed to high expectations and accountability.

Press Release - Carol M. White Grant

Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) was recently notified that our application for United States Department of Education, Carol M. White grant was successful, and HUSD was granted the highest award in California for a total of $2,139,000, $713,000 per year for three years.
